Office Policies:

Office hours of the County Clerk of Hartley County are 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Hartley County Clerk has the following office policies:

Hartley County Clerk personnel cannot search the Real Property records.  We are able to verify information from a Real Property record if you provide us with the volume and page of the instrument.

A search of the County Criminal Court or Civil Court index can be made after receiving a written request and a $5.00 fee per name/per court.  One name searched in the civil and criminal index is $10.00.

In order to have a Probate hearing as early as possible, any new Application to Probate Will must be filed by 4:00 p.m on Thursday. Citations on new Applications to Probate Will filed after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday will be issued and posted on Friday. The cost for filing an Application to Probate Will is $241.00. Letters are $2.00 each.

Recordings should be filed by 4:00 p.m. Please notify the office if you will be filing recordings later than 4:00 p.m., so special arrangements can be made. Recordings received after 4:00 p.m. may not be file marked until the following day.  Recording fees are $16.00 for the first page and $4.00 for each additional page. Additional names, over 5, to be indexed are $0.25 each.  Original instruments are required. We appreciate a postage paid envelope for returning the original to you.

Hartley County has a fax filing plan which allows you to file an original County Court Petition, and subsequent documents, by fax. Fees, if any are due, must be paid at the time of filing. Hartley County contracts with Official Payments Corporation (OPC), at http://officialpayments.com, for your convenience. All major credit cards are accepted by OPC.
